La artista nacida en Venezuela, crea sus trabajos videográficos uniendo imágenes encontradas, historias y anécdotas personales y las convierte en narraciones vinculadas con la cultura contemporánea. Esquivias actúa como narradora en estas viñetas, en la que presenta los clips de videos, las revistas, fotografías, dibujos y otros pequeños objetos en directo a través de su ordenador, una cámara y su propia voz. Las conexiones que Esquivias crea en sus videos son a menudo idiosincráticas y difíciles de localizar, ofreciendo al espectador una oportunidad para la contemplación y el descubrimiento. Venezuelan-born artist Patricia Esquivias creates videos that weave found images, history, and personal anecdotes into narratives that convey her insights about contemporary culture. Esquivias acts as narrator in these vignettes, in which she presents clips from videos and magazines, photos, drawings, and other small objects. The camera is often trained on Esquivias´s laptop and the gallery visitor sees only her hands scrolling through digital images, playing videos, and inserting physical pictures as she speaks. The connections that Esquivias creates in her videos are often idiosyncratic and difficult to locate, offering the viewer an opportunity for contemplation and discovery.
