NYC, about production

More interviews about production, following with our research. In New York City consonni was for two months (August and September) interviewing people about the concept of production in contemporary art within the “Bird and ornithologist” project, thanks to our collaborators in the city: the curator Alhena Katsof and the artist Itziar Barrio.

We have the chance of having many different meetings and we still working on it because New York is an interesting space to discuss about the conditions of production. Here some of the people that was interviewed:

AK Burns - Artist, Professor and co-founder of W.A.G.E. (working artists and the greater economy)

Isla Leaver-Yap, writes about and organizes projects with artists.

Esa Nickle - General Manager of Performa

Kari Conte, - Director of Programs and Exhibitions of The International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP)

Antonio Serna – an artist currently living, working, and organizing in New York City. Currently he focused deconstructing notions of progress and uncovering the social anthropology of art & culture.

Danna Vajda (North Vancouver, Canada, 1983) is an artist and writer based in New York. Her work uses painting and script writing as means to rethink situations in which  discursive and institutional concepts are disseminated and taken on at the personal level.

Paul Clay- artist and curator
